Where do the shop doors take me?

• Our mission is to take you to the best, most convenient home ordering experience possible online for that outlet's goods. 

• Essentially, if any site allows online ordering of the very same products, the door takes you straight in there!  If not, the door will take you to the outlet's official online catalogue, a similar online store, or an info site.

• If they don't have an official online or partner shop, by default you are redirected to an equivalent site, however you may still see a link to 'their official site' on the redirect page.  Click this to load their official site 'as is'.

Why do a number of shop doors take me to a 'page not found'?

• This should only happen on rare occasions when stores change links or go down without telling us.

• If it happens on several, it sounds like you have anti-spyware software that is blocking legitimate sites, such as 'SpyBot'.  If so disable the 'resident shield' for Internet Explorer, and click here for simple instructions to restore your access to many harmless websites.

How do I navigate the Streetscape and Cross the Road?

What's the point of shopping here instead of through search engines?

1. Don't you find search engines rather clinical?  All that text doesn't exactly stimulate the senses.  We believe Internet shopping should be a rich user experience, and that is what we deliver -- the sights & sounds of real world shopping, minus the hassle.

2. Trawling the search engines you'll eventually find many retailers don't have an online store -- just a catalogue, or nothing at all.  But when you click their door on the Superhighstreet, you're virtually always taken to an online outlet that does allow home delivery of the same products!  We've done the painstaking research for you, to take you straight to identical brands & products available online!  No more trawling the web then.

3. Many people prefer that real street experience.  There are streets we know and love, and we know where their favourite shops are and how they look.  With us you can still go there, without the heavy bags & traffic jams of course.

4. Better still, there are millions of people around the world who may never get the chance to stroll down the famous streets we feature.  Now they can scroll down them almost instantly, travelling 100s of miles in a few seconds.  We hope we're doing our small bit to bring people around the world closer together, and hope you enjoy the experience!

Does Superhighstreet take me direct to local branches?

• When you see our 'Local' shopping bag icon on a major chain store's signage banner, click their door to find town-relevant content inside that chain's site! (E.g. reserve goods, stock check, product ranges, mailing lists, appointments, etc.). 

• Note that many small retailers have elusive but cool little sites you never knew about, and obviously this content is location-specific anyway so you won't see the Local icon.

• That said, we are of course restricted by what the retailers actually make possible, so some online stores will not lead you to local services.  You will still find many if not all of the same items there, great deals via our exclusive ePosters™ and more, plus up to 35% cashback if you choose to join - no bad thing!

How do I know if I'm getting either A) ePoster™ deals, or B) Up to 35% Cashback instead?

• Generally the door takes you to the same page as the ePoster.  The ePoster is there to inform you what deal you will get inside - just like with real shops.  But keep an eye out for some exclusive ePoster links too!

How do I tell you about a shop's new web site, so you can link to it?

• Click here where you can tell us about shop's web sites, or build your own affordable one!

The satellite view I see when I click some signs is great, but how do I see/print a normal map?

• Just click the [Map] button on the top-right corner of the map to come out of the Hybrid Map (Street Map + Satellite) view.  Click Print above for a printer-friendly version.

How can I find more info on a shop, e.g. reviews?

• Simple.  If you are taken to Google Maps when you click the Shop Sign, on their map page click the centre pushpin then click the outlet name that appears in the speech bubble.  If there are reviews and other sites available, you will see them on the new page that opens!  For other info pages you should see reviews or info right there.

Do you accept payment in my currency?

• We don't actually take any payments ourselves.  Instead when you walk through shop doors you will enter the shop's very own online store, and you can make payment to them via credit card in your own currency.

Why isn't a Door or Sign clickable?

• This means they are not online yet or have closed down, there are no info sites about the venue, and/or no good equivalent available, sorry.  Please let us know if this is not the case so we can update our imagery ASAP.

An outlet's site is clickable but their site is down - what do I do?

• It's probably temporarily down and they know about it, but if it persists please let us know.

So how can I find out the opening hours of the store?

• You mean you actually want the crowds, hassle, & parking meters?  ;)  If the shop sign doesn't give this info when clicked, go through the door and click the 'Store Locator' (or similar) link on the page we transport you to.  Click it and enter the town or city/post or zip code and you will usually find opening hours, maps, phone numbers, etc.  But are you sure you can't buy what you need from the comfort of home with great deals and a real cash back option when you shop elsewhere too?

How can your partners give away free money?  It's not dodgy is it?

• It's a big process to create a photo-realistic panorama of a real street.  Did you know licenses and permits are needed to photograph on some streets, and then there's creating the page and links themselves to get them absolutely how you expect them. 

• If you don't see a street you'd like to, please suggest it to us, then join the mailing list for updates.  You never know!

How sexist! The person that walks along the map is a man!
